Are college dropouts more successful than people with good education?
Why do high school graduates become college dropouts, and what can we do about it? These are two major questions that are always asked.Only 41 percent of low-income students entering a four-year college managed to graduate within five years, but 66 percent of high-income students did. Stress is any situation that evokes negative thoughts and feelings in a person, which is one of the reason students dropout and for some students, college is stressful because it is an abrupt change from high school. A measure of distress in college students is the dropout rate, which nationwide figures are difficult to obtain, an estimated 50 percent of entering freshmen do not finish college four years later. National data from the U.S. Census Bureau revealed in 2000 that one in three Americans drops out of college, an overall increase from the 1960s when one in five discontinued his or her studies. College dropouts deserve another chance just like everyone else.
