Is GED the answer to dropouts?

Did you know that one-third of those who enter high school don't graduate? The average dropout rates in Western New York school has increased dramatically by 50% and like some of the region's highest dropout rates are in rural school districts. Some students after dropping out turn to getting their GED which is is a test that certifies the taker has attained American or Candian High School-level academic skills. But to pass the GED, the student must have completed at least 40th percent of high school seniors nationwide, though individual states can set their own requirements for passing.
Research has shown that for many years that young people who don't complete high school face many more problems in later life than do people who graduate. About 96 percent of U.S. employers accept the GED credential as equal to a traditional high school diploma.
Some dropouts become very successful in life, for example: Bill Gates now one of the riches man in the world. Now on Microsoft and other great corporations. http://www.focusas.com/Dropouts.html
